Cheers Dom, you have been an entertainer and an inspiration. As I galivant around the globe, you have been an interesting connection to home and the world of policing I left 10 years ago.
Look after yourself, brother, good health is the most important thing.
Also, I know where to find you! I will come by that pub soon.
Dom, we never met but reading your stories and thoughts has made me feel like I know you. Like an ex colleague you could natter to between calls etc. So I will miss your emails telling me there is a new one, but fortunately you have a lot of older ones I can continue to read. Enjoy your other project, I for one would like to see that when its finished. And as and when you want to do another of these I will eagerly await it. Best wishes with the health- very important to look after yourself.
Cheerio Dom, I’ll miss you. Take good care, and as you slide off home, be sure to open the drivers window, and put the radio on, loudly. I’ve spoken to the skipper, and he says there’s a less than eight waiting for you when the next Policing disaster strikes…
Oh this is a shame, but I totally get it. Like others have said before me, your articles and other posts are ones I never skip as they do amuse. I can’t believe I am saying this, but I look forward to seeing the job slip up again so we get another funny insight into your thoughts. I will know doubt reread some of these as they did have me in stitches. Look after yourself in the meantime. Laters!
I’ve really enjoyed your pithy wit and astute observations on our glorious police service and will miss your articles. I’m sure the service will blunder into a spectacularly stupid situation very soon, maybe see you sooner rather than later?
Thank you for giving up your time and health to amuse me!
Dom - it's been an absolute pleasure, this is the one Substack that I never, ever skip. Thanks for every one of the 150,000 words. All the best, I hope you're doing okay and are feeling fully fit soon.
Good luck with your health, have my own with a spinal injury, so fight on, you'll get through it. You are still the most articulate voice in the country on police matters, which is odd for an ex- SB and DPS officer! However, I am the same myself, so perhaps perhaps that explains it! I try to add the voice of reason myself from time to time, to counteract the Mad sh1te out they're. Looking forward to your return to health and to the media.
Good luck with your health issues. None of us are getting younger and it’s important to do what makes you happy now. Look forward to your return whenever you feel ready and take it a bit easier in the meantime. Cheers!
I have enjoyed your posts and memories from a functional but imperfect ‘Team Met’. Let’s hope the MPS can return from the afterlife (see what I did there!) and once again stand proud to serve London.
Haste ye back bonny lad, we need more like you

I'm waiting for the next read.

Less than eight? I'm back tomorrow, Peter!

I made myself a hostage to fortune with that one, of course the Job will do something so outrageous I'll have to hit the keyboard again.

Take care Dom. Look after yourself.
Your philosophical musings have reminded me of so many times in my own career.
1982 seems like a lifetime ago.

Good luck mate. You reminded me of the best Night Jack blogs from waaaay back in the day
High praise indeed, given that won an Orwell Award!

It's a shame and you'll be missed, probably
